Perry Mandera has always had a powerful desire to help others and through this desire founded Custom Care Charities Inc. Perry Mandera grew up in Chicago where he graduated high school before joining the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves. It was there that he was assigned to the motor pool and learned to drive a truck. After Perry Mandera left the Marines through an honorable discharge he started working in the transportation industry. His desire to help others led Perry Mandera to serve as the Republican Ward Committeeman for the 26th Ward in Chicago for four years from 1984-1988. At the time this was an even more impressive feat as he was the youngest person to ever be elected to this position.
During his run in office, Perry Mandera started The Custom Companies, Inc. Over the years The Custom Companies, Inc. has grown to serve thousands of customers that range from high-end fortune 500 companies all the way to smaller family owned companies. With The Custom Companies, Inc. Perry Mandera offers transportation services to companies that are a complete range of logistic services and products including Truckload and LTL services, Domestic and International Air Freight Forwarding services and many others. This led Perry Mandera to be named one of the “Top 100 American Transportation Executives of the Millennium” in 2000 by the Illinois Transportation Association.
Perry Mandera has dedicated much of his time and energy to helping charitable organizations. He has donated his time and financial resources to Cancer Cures and Prevention, The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation, The Jesse White Tumblers, and many others. Perry Mandera was very honored to help give relief to Washington, IL when it was struck by a devastating tornado in 2013. The Custom Companies, Inc. was able to do 40 truckloads of food and supplies to the region using their own trucks for the delivery. This helped spur the desire to create the charitable organization under The Custom Companies, Inc. which is called “Custom Care Charities.” Through this charity, Perry Mandera continues to help families in their times of need.
