Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media are human rights advocacy groups in the United States. They are popular in the state of Arizona, and they are associated with two gentlemen. These gentlemen are Jim and Michael.
With these two organizations, these gentlemen have suffered as they try to advocate for justice. For instance, they were arrested in the year 2007 for publishing grand jury proceeding concerning a sheriff in Arizona known as Joe Arpaio. The sheriff hails from a county known as Maricopa County. The county is known for abusing immigrants and ignoring their rights as well.
In a recent report, it was revealed that Joe Arpaio appeared on national TV to oppose reforms related to immigration. In the past, he has been accused of office abuse while at the same time ignoring the problems facing the immigrants.
He is known to encourage child molestation and encouraging women rape. In the case concerning Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin, the sheriff was accused of issuing arrest orders for the gentlemen for printing the mentioned information about him. Readers who had read the information had also been issued with subpoenas.
As part of the compensation, the sheriff was ordered to pay the gentlemen a whooping settlement of $3.75 million by the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth circuit. Jim Larkin and Michel Larcey promised that they would use the funds with the Lacey and Larkin Frontera Fund.

The Human Rights Foundation is another non-profit organization specializing in protecting and promoting human rights across the world. It’s the organization that closely works with Oslo Freedom Forum. The organization has been in existence since the year 2005 when it was established by Thor Halvorssen.
The organization has maintained its offices in New York City. Since then, the organization has been involved with many countries such as Bolivia, Venezuela, Uganda, China, Cuba and Dominican Republic. The organization works with the mission of uniting people to promote liberal democracy and at the same time defend human rights.
