Transforming Treatment in Urology

Since June 2013, Dr. David Samadi has been the chairman of urology and chief of robotic surgery at Lenox Hospital. It seems robotic surgery has been a keen interest of Dr. David Samadi. Before he joined Lenox Hill, he was working at Mount Sinai Hospital. Here, he was chief of the robotic surgery as well. Dr. Samadi’s specialty is urology or oncologist. He is an expert in prostate cancer.

When treating cancer, one has an option of choosing radiation, chemotherapy or surgery. Dr. Samadi is a leader in the minimally invasive surgery department. So far he has undertaken more than seven thousand robot-assisted surgeries on the prostate.

Apart from prostate, Dr. Samadi also treats kidney and bladder cancer. These are urologic illnesses as well. He uses treatments such as laparoscopic radical prostatectomy. He could also use laparoscopic robotic radical prostatectomy. Whatever approach of treatment he uses depends on the illness and how best to treat it,

Samadi has his roots in Iran. He was born and raised there until he was a teenager. They were forced to leave their home because of political reasons. This issue caused a separation between Samadi, his brother, and their parents. Samadi and his brother pursued their ambitions in America and made their parents proud.

Dr. David Samadi began his education in Belgium and London before his final settlement in America. His first degree was in biochemistry at Stony Broke University. He was lucky to be under scholarship. Dr. Samadi went ahead to get his training in urology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Other areas he attained were a fellowship in oncology and another one in robotic radical prostatectomy.

All these accomplishments of education have played a major role in making him the person he is. He is one of the top doctors who are good at minimally invasive surgery. Robotic surgery is a modern method of treatment that has proved to be efficient and effective to patients. Dr. Samadi has done hundreds of these surgeries, and they have been successful. Apart from offering treatment to patients, Dr. David Samadi is keen to make publications on urology topics. He recently talked about the statistics of prostate cancer. Particularly, he mentioned political personalities who were diagnosed but successfully treated after going through surgery. In his article, Dr. Samadi states Mitt Romney, Colin Powel, and John Kerry are all former patients with prostate cancer. They chose surgery, which went well and we all hope for the best in their health. He is keen to remind people of staying healthy. Promoting health is the main reason for making these publications.
